Sinus Release Massage
Mikala May
Sinus massage is a great way to relieve congestion, pain, and pressure in the sinuses. It can be done at home and is a safe and effective way to help clear your sinuses. You can do this massage as often as you need to. If you are feeling particularly congested, you can do it several times a day.
- Use light to medium pressure
- Be gentle around the eyes and lips
- You can use moisturiser or oil to help the massage glide more smoothly
How to:
1. Place four fingers on each temple and massage gently in a circular motion. If you find any spots that feel more tense than others, hold down on that spot and take some deep breaths
2. Continue along from your temples along your hairline and forehead.
3. Place your thumb and index fingers on either side of your nose closest to your eyebrows and gently pinch, holding for 10 seconds.
4. Work your way across just below the eyebrow and then just above the eyebrow, pressing down for a couple of seconds each time.
5. Use your index finger and press and drag from the bottom of your nose across under the cheek bone to your ear. Repeat 5 times.
6. On the final repeat, hold your fingers on the TMJ (temporomandibular joint) just below the ear and massage gently in a circular motion.
7. Using your index finger, use a gentle circular motion and slowly massage in front and behind the ears.
